Bath Mixed Ability Rugby Exhibition

The players, coaches and families of Bath Mixed Ability Rugby are the stars of a new
exhibition opening at Bath Central Library on 28 August. More Than A Game is a free photography
exhibition celebrating the club which welcomes players regardless of ability, experience or
background.

The club’s open approach enables it to include players managing injuries that rule out
mainstream club rugby, players with special educational needs and disabilities, and complete
newcomers to the sport. The exhibition, part of the library’s Art in the Library programme, runs
until 27 September 2026.

Bath Mixed Ability Rugby, based at Stothert & Pitt RFC on Bristol Road, was set up to make the
game accessible to anyone who wants to play. The exhibition captures the spirit of the club:
training sessions in all weathers, players supporting and learning from one another, and the
growth in confidence that comes from being part of a team and developing new skills.

The large-format prints on display were taken over three years by local photographer Jon Taylor. “I
turned up for a single photo shoot to help with social media, and within 10 minutes of being with
the players and coaches, I knew I was in this for the long run.” said Jon.
