Samuel, coached by Ian MacDonald and Tiernan Brady at the University of Bath, dropped just one set across five matches and was particularly dominant in the closing stages of the tournament, beating home player Stefanos Sakellaridis 6-2 6-0 in the semi-finals before securing the trophy with a 6-3 6-0 defeat of Harry Wendelken.
It was the second weekend running that Samuel had won an all-British final after his 6-3 6-4 success against former Team Bath Tennis player Giles Hussey at the ITF M25 Vale do Lobo in Portugal.
Those victories mean that Samuel, who has now won seven men’s singles trophies on the international circuit since the start of 2025, has moved up 47 places to a career high of 197 in the live ATP rankings.
