Prior Park College welcomed a professional film crew to their school for the production of a short film based on the Sherlock Holmes books. Produced and directed by industry professional Daniel Newman (who also stars in the film), the project gave students a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in the industry.

Shot in a vertical format for mobile phone viewing, the short film brings the iconic detective story to a modern audience, blending classic storytelling with contemporary filming techniques. Students supported the crew across various departments, including lighting, props, costumes and set coordination, gaining invaluable, hands-on experience behind the scenes. Three members of Prior Park’s teaching staff also took on small acting roles in the production, making the project an even more memorable experience.
Prior Park College is grateful to Daniel Newman and his team for their generosity, mentorship, and for providing an inspiring and enriching opportunity for students, that may well ignite the careers of future film industry professionals!
