Bath Care Home Achieves ‘Good’ Rating from Care Regulator and Welcomes New Home Manager

Ivybank House Care Home in Bath has received an overall ‘Good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following an unannounced inspection in October 2025, as the home also welcomes new manager Zendrel Moore.

The 43-bed care home, which provides residential, dementia, respite and day care, achieved the ‘Good’ rating across all five of the CQC’s assessment criteria: safe, effective, responsive, caring, and well-led. The inspection marks the CQC’s first comprehensive review since Ivybank House changed ownership in 2024.

The CQC’s report praised the home’s commitment to person-centred care, finding that the team at Ivybank ‘always treated people with kindness, empathy and compassion and respected their privacy and dignity.’ The team also made sure that ‘people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.’

Feedback from relatives was also overwhelmingly positive. One family member told the CQC, ‘Residents are relaxed, staff are attentive, and there always seems to be someone nearby.’

The positive rating coincides with the appointment of a new home manager, Zendrel Moore, who has recently joined Ivybank House to lead the home into its next phase of development.

Zendrel is a qualified nurse who began her career at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, gaining experience in adult and neuro-orthopaedic care. She later transitioned into community nursing before moving into management roles.

Zendrel managed a neuro-rehabilitation ward for 18 months in Gloucestershire before becoming deputy home manager at a care home in the same county.

Zendrel Moore, home manager at Ivybank House, said:

“We are delighted to have been awarded a ‘Good’ rating from the CQC.  This well-deserved acknowledgement is testament to the dedication the whole Ivybank House team has to delivering the best care for all our residents.

“I am excited to be joining the team at such a positive time for the home and look forward to building on this strong foundation. I am a passionate believer in person-centred care, where residents are front and centre of decisions about how they are cared for. I will ensure that all our residents continue to enjoy meaningful life experiences and remain as independent as possible.”
