Alex Huggins, a Refrigeration apprentice at Bath College, has reached the WorldSkills UK Finals 2026. He will compete in the Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, and Heat Pumps (RACHP) competition this November at Cardiff and Vale College, for his technical ability and progress as part of his Building Services apprenticeship.
The successful apprentice’s achievement follows a competitive national selection process. Only the most skilled apprentices progress to the final stage. He will represent Bath College and his employer, Cotswold Vale Refrigeration Limited, to compete alongside the UK’s top RACHP engineers.
The WorldSkills UK competition is regarded as the hallmark of quality in technical education and training. Finalists will take part in practical and theoretical competencies, such as system installation, commissioning, fault finding, and the best safe working practices.
