Stone King: What do I do when somebody dies?

Kerry Rogers, Senior Associate, Trusts & Estates Team

We know that it’s hard enough dealing with the death of a loved one without the added stress of managing the legal aspects. If someone you know has died, our team of probate and estates specialists can help guide you through the next steps.

We understand that no two estates are the same and can provide bespoke assistance with all aspects of dealing with an estate. This includes notifying asset holders, carrying out asset and Will searches, advising on inheritance tax and completing inheritance tax returns, applying for probate, advising on the laws of intestacy (where no Will has been made), collecting in assets, paying legacies and distributing the estate.

If matters become difficult, we work closely with our colleagues in the Dispute Resolution team to provide advice about potential claims or disputes.
