Luxury event space, House of St John’s, has added chic city weddings to its offering, with the launch of its new wedding ceremony venue.
Set in a Grade I-listed property overlooking the historic Queen Square in Bath, House of St John’s is elevating city wedding ceremonies in line with the trend of couples demanding more stylish options.
Micro weddings have become increasingly sought-after and a number of UK celebrity couples have heightened the trend of smaller gatherings in more intimate settings. The new venue at House of St John’s perfectly caters to this surge in popularity, with a stylish option that can accommodate up to 30 guests.
Pinterest, the go-to platform for wedding trends inspiration, stated the search for ‘registry office weddings’ increased by 150% in the last year in its Annual Wedding Report. The report highlights that users have prioritised low-key weddings and put greater emphasis on quality time with loved ones and guest experiences.
Amy Grant, Head of Operations and Events at House of St John’s, said:
“There is a significant gap in Bath’s wedding venue market for more personalised city ceremonies that are priced affordably but set in a special location that is in keeping with the wedding day experience. The trend of chic modern micro weddings isn’t slowing down so we have created a beautiful space for couples to tie the knot. The venue is perfect for those looking for an intimate wedding, or for those who want a sophisticated legal ceremony before their celebration abroad.
“Our research shows that 43.6% of marriages in 2022 took place on a Saturday, so we’re offering this popular day to meet market demand.”
House of St John’s offers two elegant rooms for ceremonies. The Whittington Suite accommodates up to 30 guests, while the Fitzwarren Room holds 12 guests, including the couple. Each couple will have one and a half hours to enjoy their ceremony and a celebratory toast with their guests.
The standard package includes a personal wedding co-ordinator to meticulously plan the ceremony, in addition to venue hire, floral arrangements, ceremony chairs and music. Optional add-ons range from champagne receptions and an upgraded floral design, to photography, videography, and live musicians. Guests can also enjoy a discounted stay in the luxury apartments offered at St Catherine’s after their big day.
The venue has partnered with the finest local Bath suppliers to provide a bespoke experience for couples, from Minerva Wine’s locally-produced champagne to Honeysuckle’s vibrant floral arrangements. The team also offers a curated list of trusted suppliers, including makeup artists, hair stylists, photographers, and videographers, ensuring a seamless planning process.
