Event Details

Royal High School Bath, GDST (RHB) is set to host a spellbinding Wicked-themed open event on Saturday 29th November, 10am-12.30pm.

Girls will be invited to channel their inner Glinda or Elphaba as they take part in a range of imaginative activities, from making potions and learning spells to getting active with a choreographed dance. After all the magic-making fun, participants can put their Wicked knowledge to the test in a themed quiz, with prizes up for grabs.

Taking place just a week after the release of the new film, Wicked: For Good, the event invites girls from Years 2-5 to step into another world, unleash their imaginations and make new friends. While the girls enjoy their activities, parents will embark on a guided tour of the school and discover more about life and learning at the school.

Royal High prides itself on doing things a little differently – a philosophy reflected in the creative open events it offers. Over the coming months, the school will host a series of Masterclass events, beginning with a baking and making morning for girls in Years 5 and 6 on Saturday 22nd November. Attendees can choose between baking delicious strawberry shortbread biscuits – a treat for any Bake Off fan – or designing and crafting an iPad holder/cookbook stand in the school’s state-of-the-art Design and Technology studio.

Looking ahead to the Spring term, girls can take part in a language-focused masterclass, or a netball masterclass on 28th February. They can also sharpen their drawing pencils for an art masterclass on 14th March. The Summer term will see a dance masterclass on 9th May, followed by a magical, Harry Potter-themed Classics masterclass on 6th June. Each event is designed around a different theme, offering something to suit a wide range of interests and showcasing the breadth of learning and creativity at Royal High Bath.

Heidi-Jayne Boyes, Head of Royal High Bath, says: “Curiosity and creativity are at the heart of a Royal High education, and this is reflected in the open events we offer. We’re excited to welcome parents and their daughters to our upcoming events, where they’ll discover how we support every girl to reach her full potential, celebrate her individuality and, most importantly, enjoy a happy and fulfilling school experience.”
