Gallery Nine: Spring Exhibition

Gallery Nine, Bath’s Contemporary Arts & Crafts Gallery, will be displaying their Spring Exhibition from Saturday 12 April – Saturday 31 May.

There will be a private viewing on Saturday 12 April from 4:30pm – 7:30pm.

Gallery Nine’s featured artists this Spring are Peter Swanson, Louise Davies, Deborah Bird and Zsuzsi Morrison.

Peter Swanson, a self taught potter, has honed and evolved his craft since establishing his own pottery in St Ives in 1976. Today, near Penzance, he uses reduction fired stoneware and porcelain with hand built kilns to explore glazes and surface decoration. This will be Peter’s first show at Gallery Nine.

Louise Davies, a Gallery Nine favourite and Fellow of the Royal Society of Printmakers, makes prints and paintings of landscapes using fluid line and vibrant colour. Working with etching and monoprint techniques from her London studio, she has brought brand new work to showcase here in Bath.

Deborah Bird makes beautiful abstract, light, open paintings, inspired by nature and the unusual and accidental qualities of watercolour. Translucent, intersecting brushstrokes of colour often with metallics. 

Gallery Nine’s featured jeweller for Spring is artist Zsuzsi Morrison. With a painter’s eye, working with enamel and precious metals, her earrings and necklaces are unique, modern and colourful. Each piece is made with expert craftsmanship and instantly wearable.
