Bath Golf Club Seniors to hold charity tournament

On 19 September, Bath Golf Club Seniors will hold their Seniors’ Platinum Golf Tournament in aid of two local charities: Dorothy House and The Children’s Hospice South-West – providing palliative and end-of-life for adults and children respectively. The Golf Club is expecting up to 100 players playing in teams of four; the proceeds will be divided 50:50.

The charity sector has been hit hard in the wake of the pandemic, in addition to the recent pull for support in Ukraine and the rise in the cost of living – and so this year the Golf Club are hoping to provide as much support as possible for those in need.

Club members are conscious that businesses have also been hard-hit by the pandemic and may not be able to offer the regular support; as a result, Bath Golf Club are not looking for a main sponsor to offer hundreds of pounds. Instead, they are asking if readers would be willing to sponsor (by having their name associated with) an element of the programme or, alternatively to provide a prize for the golf or the raffle.

The individual elements for which the Club is hoping to attract a sponsor are:

  • Hole Sponsor: each sponsor can have some form of advertising located near his/her tee, and the club will be making public its thanks in the material being produced both before and on the day. No particular sum will be asked for each hole, but as a guideline something in the region of £30-50 would be welcome
  • Team Prizes: there will be team prizes for up to 6 teams of 4
  • Individual Prizes: there will be 5 individual prizes for achievements on the course (eg closest to the pin) and for the putting competition and sweepstakes, as well hopefully sleeves of golf balls for those who achieve a 2 on any hole
  • Other elements: Yellow golf balls for Yellow Ball competition, one per team (up to 25) | Goodies (a bottle of water, banana & chocolate bar for up to 100) | Raffle (prizes, many being donated by committee and other members, but the more, the merrier)
