The Clifton Sausage has been a Bristol institution since 2002. In that time it has built up a stellar reputation for serving delicious dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
Following on from the success of their Bristol restaurant husband and wife team, Simon and Joy Quarrie have opened their second restaurant in beautiful and historic Bath, just around the corner from the popular shopping hotspot Milsom Street.
The Bath restaurant is a stunning building split over two levels. On the ground floor there is an extensive bar area where you can treat yourself to a yummy cocktail (2-4-1 until 7pm everyday) while you wait for all your guests to gather or just to pull up a seat an enjoy the friendly service. The bar leads through into a glass conservatory. This room has a real sense of romance with a beautiful chandelier and large patio doors that open up onto an outside terrace. It boasts some of the most beautiful views of Bath and the surrounding countryside.
Downstairs is a converted cellar with arched stone ceilings and a chefs table which is perfect for parties who like to be amongst the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen. Past the chefs table and down a few slate steps you emerge into a bright and beautifully renovated spacious dining room.
As their name would suggest they specialise in all things sausage, however they have a wide and varied menu full of classic British dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. So even if you are not in the mood for a good old fashioned bowl of bangers and mash, you’ll still find yourself spoiled for choice. The lunch menu at The Clifton Sausage is £9.95 for two courses and £11.95 for three. The set dinner menu is £10.95 for two courses and £12.95 for three. The full a la carte menu is available throughout the day.
