Mediation assists separated couples to resolve issues arising from their separation, reducing conflict and uncertainty. This will frequently involve involve considering what arrangements are best for any children. Child Inclusive Mediation involves a family mediator who is trained to speak with children to enable their views to be heard when parents are making decisions regarding their care. The government expects that children aged 10 and above should be provided with this opportunity and research has shown the benefits to children of knowing that their thoughts have been taken into account when their parents separate.
At Stone King, we focus on supporting people through relationship breakdown and assisting them in finding solutions that are in the interests of any children involved. We have 2 trained child inclusive mediators who can help achieve this end.
