The Chapel Choir of Prior Park had the concert trip of a lifetime in late October when they took part in three concerts in Rome.

Along with Classics students from the college, the choir flew to Rome to give three concerts and two Masses in some of the world’s most famous and beautiful churches, including performances under the magnificent domes of both the Pantheon and St Peter’s in the Vatican.

In a busy schedule, the students also visited the city’s great sights including the Forum and Colosseum, Capitoline Museums and Ostia Antica, as well as enjoying the best of the great city’s pizza and gelato.

Director of Music Roland Robertson, who conducted the choir, said: “Rome has so many unforgettable experiences and inspiring memories to offer our students, especially musicians and classicists. It was a fabulous privilege for us to sing in these wonderful churches and to be guided around by our very own expert Classics teachers.”

The College musicians are preparing for performances in 2018 at Wells Cathedral and Bath Abbey.
