Millfield Prep School in Somerset has become the top swimming school in the country after winning both the boys’ and girls’ events at the 2018 National IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) Swimming Championships.
Millfield Prep swimmers broke eight IAPS records while competing at the national championships, which were held for the first time in the London Aquatics Centre in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the venue of the London 2012 Olympics swimming events.
This recent success means Millfield Prep’s girls swimming programme has claimed the top spot for the 33rd consecutive year, with the boys programme winning 18 times.
Millfield Prep’s director of swimming, Helen Gouldby, says, “I am incredibly proud of our swimmers for claiming the top spot, as well as getting their names in the history books as IAPS record breakers. This achievement shows the dedication and commitment each of them has to their sport and the Millfield Prep swimming programme.”
