Have an evening with Ash Sinfield, Marathon des Sables finisher at Combe Grove on 21 February. From Somerset to the Sahara Desert begins at 6pm and Ash will be speaking about her motivations, training process and the challenges that come with undertaking such a physically demanding feat.
In 2016, Ash fulfilled a life-long dream of completing the Marathon de Sables, a six-day ultra-marathon across the Sahara Desert, covering 251km, the equivalent of six regular marathons. Ash is an inspiring mother of three, who wanted to demonstrate to her children that whatever you put your mind to in life, no matter how hard, you can achieve it… and when you do it’s the best feeling in the world.
All proceeds from the talk will be donated to Restart Africa, a Kenyan charity which Ash fundraised for during the Marathon des Sables. Restart Africa rescue homeless children from the streets of Kenya to provide them with a home, education, care and counselling.
There is also an option to stay on for supper with Ash at 7.45pm in the Library.
Ash has kindly offered to host a private three-course supper afterwards in our Library, for those who would like to stay on to learn more or ask further questions. Choose from a delicious local and seasonal menu suitable for most diets, made with great care by our team of chefs.
