Jamaar Semper-House, Chef de Partie at Michelin starred Restaurant Hywel Jones, has been announced as the winner of the South West Young Professional Chef of the Year 2019.

The event, which took place on 22 October at the exclusive Exeter Golf Club, rewards the skills and creativity of the most talented professionals, as well as junior chefs and students.

Adding to his RACA AAE title from earlier this year, Jamaar has now added ‘South West Young Professional Chef of the Year 2019’ award to his trophy cabinet. Jamaar’s natural talent as a chef is evident for all to see but it’s his dedication, commitment and application that sets him apart. At such a young age Jamaar is only beginning his career but is set for a big future in his chosen profession,” said Hywel Jones, executive chef at Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa.
