Rather than trolling through recipe after recipe, and rushing out to grab a bag of flour and some eggs from the supermarket, here we round up six of the best cafés and restaurants in Bath to enjoy a plate (or two!) of pancakes…

Wild Café

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city’s main streets, the Wild Café serve a wide range of delicious breakfast dishes all day long – and its pancakes adorn the top of its brunch menu.

Stacked high on top of each other, you can enjoy your pancakes with either blueberries, bananas and maple syrup, or bacon and maple syrup.

Bill’s Restaurant

Bill’s makes its blueberry pancakes with buttermilk – making them fluffier, lighter and even more delicious. They come served with banana, strawberries and maple syrup. To top that all off, you can add some smoked streaky bacon for £1.50.

Why not wash them down with one of Bill’s healthy green smoothies, or even a peach bellini? Breakfast is served until noon on Monday to Friday, and until 1pm at weekends.

Côte Brasserie

A popular spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Côte Brasserie in Milsom Place is a good place to have the most important first meal of the day.

Côte serves its crêpes with two free range eggs, bacon and shaved gruèyre cheese. Bloody Marys and mimosas grace the drinks menu, along with a range of teas and coffees.

Breakfast is served from 8am to noon on Monday – Friday, and 9am to 1pm at weekends.

Boston Tea Party

A staple place for many breakfast go-ers in Bath, Boston Tea Party has recently opened up a second café in Alfred Street. Visitors can enjoy breakfast dishes anytime, including stacks of scotch pancakes with either smoked bacon and maple syrup, or seasonal compote and Greek yoghurt (my personal favourite).

A generous plate of these with one of their homemade berry smoothies will certainly keep you going for the rest of the day.
