When the sun decides to emerge from behind the clouds, there is nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying a few drinks with friends.

Here we round up six of the best spots to lap up the sun and enjoy a cocktail or two in Bath…

Graze

With a balcony overlooking Southgate, Graze is a wonderful spot to relax in the sunshine overlooking the glowing Bath stone around you.

Home to a great range of Bath Ales’ ales and ciders, aperitifs and its very own drafts from its micro-brewery, there’s plenty of drinks to quench your thirst. Graze’s food menu, with their locally sourced dry-aged steaks and burgers, is also hard to resist.

Abbey Hotel

As the evenings get a little warmer, the Abbey Hotel annually opens up its pop-up garden terrace where people can wine and dine al fresco style in the setting sun. Open daily from 10am – 11pm from April to October, the garden bar is a great spot on North Parade to watch the world pass by.

It will be serving a variety of small and large plates, along with its monthly specials, on the terrace. This year the hotel has also produced a more unusual menu to enjoy outside, which includes selection of smørrebrød (danish open sandwiches) and the hotel’s delicious homemade tzatziki and baba ghanoush. Keeping with the summer theme, it will also be serving appropriately named cocktails, including an aperol showers and an English rose martini.
