More than 120 people ran on behalf of the Bath Rugby Foundation in the Bath Half marathon on 12 March, raising record funds for the local charity.
Bath Rugby Foundation runners were treated to a surprise visit from Guy Mercer and Dave Attwood, with the club’s captain Mercer giving a motivational pre-race team talk to help boost the runners before taking to the start line.
Chris Masdin raised an impressive £1,500 for the foundation before even running a mile. He is expecting to raise even more money now the race is complete, running an impressive time of 1h33m.
Brie Attwood, wife of Bath Rugby’s Dave Attwood, ran the race for the foundation and said: “Bath Rugby Foundation organised such an amazing day. The work they do with young kids is invaluable.”
Foundation runners were based at the Bath Rugby Clubhouse pre and post race for complimentary food, drink and the all important massage from Mendip Massage, University of Bath Massage and Team Breakthrough Massage.
